Named in honor of the former Presentation Community that shared St. Leo’s Church, the community garden allows participants to grow produce for their own use and that of the food pantry. The garden is located on the terraced hillside directly behind St. Leo Church on Baltimore Avenue in the North Fairmount neighborhood.

Open to our neighbors in the North Fairmount neighborhood, as well as St. Leo’s parishioners, participants grow and share fresh produce among themselves and the St. Leo Food Pantry.

The North Fairmount neighborhood of Cincinnati is located in a food desert.   Listed and defined by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Economic Research Service as a low-income census tract where a substantial number or share of residents has low access to a supermarket or large grocery store.

The Civic Garden Center is a non-profit horticultural resource dedicated to "building community through gardening, education and environmental stewardship". The CGC provides community residents with technical assistance, leadership training, horticulture education and start-up materials. This training ultimately helps to carry out the mission of the Civic Garden Center, extending the impact to a broad number of people in Cincinnati.
