We need you!   We appreciate you!   We love you!

Our needs so far exceed our own resources on many levels and we invite you to share your time, talents and treasures to be about the Lord's work with us.

Cash to Cover Operating Expenses is Essential:  in order to continue to provide the many spiritual and corporal works of mercy that St. Leo’s provides for the residents of the struggling neighborhood of North Fairmount, we must be able to turn on the lights and electronic equipment, plug in the freezers and refrigerators in the food pantry, heat the buildings, answer the phones, access running water, repair and maintain our physical plant and compensate our small, dedicated and determined staff.  Without these we simply cannot answer Jesus’ call to love our neighbors as ourselves.

We rely on you without taking you away from your own parish and our hope is that we give to you additional experiences to live the gospel in accord with your own parish mission statement but in ways different from what your parish may be able to offer you.

Your donation is humbly and gratefully accepted.  Every single gift means everything to us!

We are deeply grateful for your continued and generous support. Our St. Leo the Great parish community promises to remember you and your loved ones in our private prayer, as well as in our communal prayer, which is to say that we are praying for you all the time. May our gracious God fill you with every blessing!

Spring Appeal 2017

Spring 2017

Dear Friends,

“Lent is a particularly fitting time to open our door
to all those in need and the face of Christ in them.”

--Pope Francis

The three traditional pillars of Lenten observance are prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Almsgiving is linked to our baptismal commitment. It is a sign of our care for those in need and an expression of our gratitude for all that God has given to us. We can’t thank you enough for your loyal and continued prayer and almsgiving to support St. Leo the Great Church, during Lent and throughout the year.

By your prayer and almsgiving, so generously given, you actively participate with us in a real and concrete ways in carrying out the spiritual and corporal works of mercy through our food pantry, neighborhood garden project, English as Second Language Classes, doorbell and phone ministries, as well as our outreach programs for Burundian refugees of genocide and Hispanic immigrants from political oppression.

During this holy season of Lent, we humbly ask you to include St. Leo’s in your almsgiving. Our needs far exceed our own resources and we invite you to share your time, talents and treasures to be about the Lord's work with us.  Cash to cover operating expenses is essential in order to continue to serve our brothers and sisters in need. Your financial support is needed to turn on the lights and electronic equipment, plug in the freezers and refrigerators at the food pantry, heat the buildings, answer the phones, access running water, repair and maintain our physical plant and compensate our small, dedicated and determined staff.  Please join us in answering Jesus’ call to love our neighbors as ourselves. Here are some ways you can help:

o   Make a donation by cash, check or online.

o   Your weekly, monthly, or quarterly gift helps maintain us throughout the year.  Sustaining gifts are most welcome and are tax deductible.

o   Remember a Loved One.  Your gift to St. Leo’s is a caring way to honor or remember a special person, or mark a special occasion.

o   Gifts-In-Kind including food items, clothing, toiletries, and wish list items are just a few of the useful and practical items that help us assist those in most need.

o   Give a gift of stocks, bonds or mutual funds that have increased in value.  You can deduct the entire value from your taxable income and avoid the capital gains tax.

o   Volunteer!  Be sure to check us out on Facebook at:  St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and on our Web Page at www.saint-leo.org, and please spread the word about us to your family and friends

o   Without a doubt, your ongoing prayers are much needed and most appreciated!

We are deeply grateful for your continued and generous support. Our St. Leo the Great parish community promises to remember you and your loved ones in our private prayer, as well as in our communal prayer, which is to say that we are praying for you all the time. May our gracious God fill you with every blessing!

Through your Lenten practices of prayer, fasting and Almsgiving, may you find the gladness of Easter which is Hope, the promise of Easter which is Peace, and the spirit of Easter which is Love.

May our loving God continue to bless you.
